• Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances
• Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user would need
• Design database backup and restore strategy
• Setup High-Availability as part of Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases
• Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix the issues
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning to include index optimizations
• Failover clustering, Always on, replication, high availability technologies
• Resource monitoring (I/O bottlenecks, memory pressure, CPU Pressure)

Job Description:
1. Depth knowledge of the EDB PostgreSQL DB architecture.
2. Experience on community-supported tools like Pgbadger, Slony, PGadmin, Pgpool, Pgbouncer.
3. Cluster and upgrading/migrating various PostgreSQL database version.
Apart from L1 activities, L2 will help L1 in any of the activities.

To Stop and Start the WebSphere Standalone and Cluster servers as per SOP.
To monitor Heap size and check for the logs for out of Memory.
To take thread dump and provide to concern person.
Check for Middleware related OS parameters like disk space utilization, open files, Nproc and CPU utilization.
Checking and closing tickets.
Sharing of application related logs and files.
Monitoring of IBM http server /Apache Http server or checking for any 500 or 404 errors.
Sharing of Access and error related logs of WebSphere and IBM http server/apache http servers.
Shadowing L2 engineer if any changes being made on servers.
