Job Summary:
Experienced AIX System Administrator with a strong background in AIX operating system engineering, system certification, and end-to-end server provisioning. Skilled in building and maintaining AIX/Linux server environments, supporting large-scale enterprise systems, and collaborating closely with architecture and capacity planning teams. Proven expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and managing virtualized environments using PowerVM and HMC technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform AIX operating system engineering and certification tasks.
- Act as an AIX System Administrator for both physical and virtual environments.
- Work as a key member of the project delivery team to deliver end-to-end AIX/Linux server builds.
- Analyze project specifications to build and configure AIX/Linux server environments accordingly.
- Collaborate with architects and capacity managers to ensure optimal server provisioning and performance.
- Provide comprehensive support for all JPMC AIX operating system technologies and related components.
- Execute system administration activities, including upgrades, patching, and maintenance of AIX systems.
- Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot AIX virtual machines and physical servers for maximum uptime and performance.
- Perform PowerVM, Power Firmware, and HMC engineering and certification duties.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in AIX Operating System and system administration.
- Proven expertise in AIX/Linux server build and provisioning based on project requirements.
- Solid knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, capacity planning, and server lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in PowerVM, Power Firmware, and HMC.
- Experience with performance monitoring, system tuning, and root cause analysis of system issues.
- Familiarity with supporting enterprise-level AIX environments, including disaster recovery and high availability.
- Effective team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
