Ram Chari

Ram is a self-made entrepreneur and a renowned industry leader in the fintech payments space. He brings extensive experience in building and scaling fintech payments enterprises. He is credited for creating the first billion-dollar payments unicorn in the Middle East.

In his illustrious career spanning more than 35 years, Ram has garnered diverse operational and functional experience across payments, software products, and technology. He has run successful enterprises in various countries including Australia, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Turkey, Taiwan, UAE, USA, and brings regional exposure to North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and APJ.

Ram has well-rounded exposure to diverse sectors such as logistics, banking, travel, financial services, BPO and software technology. He has assumed several leadership roles. His last role was the COO at Magnati ( 2022)– a payment solutions leader in the UAE. He has also been the President and COO of a large global software and ATM management company, Group Head at Mastercard Processing, CEO at Mastercard Tech India, and CEO of the Network International. He has also held various regional and global roles in American Express and DHL in India, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Ram has developed deep working relationships with regional and global PE Investors in operating and identifying M&A investments and helping founders/investors to raise capital for In/Divestment. He has driven shareholder value creation through constituency focus and board positions by delivering strategic imperatives and robust governance. He has diligently engaged with and enabled the founders and institutional shareholders in the region to raise series funding with the VC, PE funds and strategic investors.

Ram holds various Advisory and Board positions across Payments and FinTech Companies. He is currently on the Board of a Digital Neo Bank, an Open Banking Transformational BaaS/SaaS Payments Platform, and a few startups in the fintech space.

Ram lives in Dubai with his family. He has two daughters who have completed their undergraduate program and now live and work in the USA.
